Sustainability Dissertation
Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
Summary
During my final 2 years of high school, I took 4 A-Levels with an additional EPQ (Extended Project Qualification). For my EPQ, I chose to undertake an independent research project into sustainability — a topic I'm genuinely passionate about — while developing key academic and professional skills.
Throughout the process, I learned how to organise my time effectively, conduct in-depth research using credible sources, and critically evaluate different perspectives. The project also required me to maintain a production log and deliver a final presentation, strengthening both my communication and project management skills.
Research Approach
A lot of my readings came from academic journals and scholarly libraries online. However, a significant portion came from primary resources — internships and online video calls.
Zoom Call with Dr. Park — A 20-minute research call covering key aspects of the dissertation topic.
4-Week Internship at Beeah — The UAE's leading sustainability company, providing first-hand insights into real-world sustainability operations and resources.
